Hambrecht Ventures is a San Francisco-based Investment Bank and Venture Capital Firm.  I was hired by this client to design templates for the company’s venture portfolio reports.

The Challenge

WR Hambrecht+Co’s Venture Captial team sends quarterly and annual reports to their investors. The client  wanted a new  template for their reports that was  easy to read, flexible in format, and allowed for a combination of text, graphics and charts.

Research

WR Hambrecht+Co is a Silicon Valley legend. Industry icon and firm namesake, Bill Hambrecht, was one of the first bankers to recognize the potential of Silicon Valley tech start-ups. He went on to help take public a litany of well-known companies including Apple, Adobe, Intel and  Google.

Hambrecht has been renowned for identifying early disruptive companies and helping them grow.  In the 1990s Hambrecht  began a series of collaborations with Harvard Professor Clayton Christensen, leading WR Hambrecht+Co to adopt an investment strategy based on a disciplined application of Christensen's research.

Today, WR Hambrecht continues to seek out innovative paths to facilitate access to capital, as an advisor to companies seeking public markets, and as a venture capital investor.
