Role
Brand Identity
App Design
Merchandise

The Challenge

My assignment was to create a full brand identity revamp for MIF. The client requested that I focus my design concept on the key characteristics MIF artisits share when producing their cutting-edge work. These characteristics include pushing boundries,  re-imagining  self-expression, and embracing imperfection  to create original and intriguing work.

Brand Concept

“Never Seen Before”

MIF is focused on presenting new and original works of art. The brand concept, “Never Seen Before,” stems from the idea of anticipation viewers have before attending the festival.

MIF brings together  many different artists to capture the next wave of art.  So, when creating a visual graphic for the brand identity, I wanted to capture the anticipation of people standing in line to get into a venue before everything is revealed.

Key Features

My job was to design the following:
  1. a poster
  2. a festival app
  3. tickets
  4. 18+ wrist bands
  5. signs
  6. t-shirts

Each of these products had to incorporate original graphics and colors while meaningfully connecting to the festival’s core themes and identity.
